Brass fittings
Brass fittings – general information
Brass pipe fittings are threaded pipe connectors made of brass. Brass connectors are broadly used in plumbing systems, heating systems, compressed air and fuel systems. They are cast or machined. Working pressure from 10 bar up to several tens of bar.
The tightness of the connection is achieved along the thread (BSP female parallel thread mates with BSPT male taper thread). Thread sealant must be used (PTFE thread seal tape, liquid sealant).
The connection of BSP male thread with BSP female taper thread should not be sealed on the thread and generally demands a separate flat gasket.
