Application and function
The reflex level gauge is a liquid level indicator without lighting device, which is mainly used on storage tanks und low pressure vessels. Due to the special design of the reflective glass, a direct reading of the level is possible without further auxiliary devices.

Remote level gauge type G

Application and function
The remote level gauge type G can be used for every steam generator according to TRD 401 except continuous steam generators. The geodetic pressure difference of two water columns is transferred to a blue separating liquid in the remote level gauge. This liquid is not soluble in water and non-toxid. The height of the display column of liquid is the water level in the steam drum at a scale of 1: 1 or a reduced scale again.

The product corresponds to the PED directive 2014/68/EU Art. 4 Abs 3 (Sound Engineering Practice). Applied rules as per TRD/AD2000 or ASME-Boilers.

Signaling, 2 point control or regulation of liquid levels in containers or pipelines. The 2 point water level controllers in the steam generator comply with EU directive 2014/68 / EU. Applied regulations according to EN 12952 and EN 12953. The liquids must not tend to stick, harden or crystallize, Solids must not be magnetizable.

Execution
The magnet (permanent magnet), which is supported by the float lever, switches through the pressure-resistant wall. Without contact the magnetic switch located in the switch housing.

Magnetic level gauge NA7-MRK 110

Reed chaine (SIL/Ex)

Application and function
IGEMA Magnet­klappen­anzeiger in Verbindung mit einer Reedkette MRK zeigen nicht nur mechanisch den Füllstand über die Anzeigeleiste AL2-G/AL3-G an, sondern erzeugen bei der Füllstandsmessung zusätzlich ein 4 - 20 mA-Signal. Dabei betätigt das Magnetsystem im Schwimmer eine  Widerstandsmesskette, die einer 3-Leiter-Potentiometerschaltung ent­spricht. Die erzeugte Messspannung ist proportional zur Füllstandhöhe und bedingt durch die feinstufige Auflösung der Messkette quasi-kon­tinu­ierlich.

Mit dem 4-20 mA-Signal kann der Flüssigkeitsstand über weite Distanzen in einen Leitstand oder in ein entfernt installiertes IGEMA-Fernanzeigeelement (LB-16) übertragen werden.

Darüber hinaus ist das Schalten von frei wählbaren Grenzwerten in Verbindung mit IGEMA-Grenz­wertschaltern (M510) möglich.

Control of water quality in steam boilers

TDS control for steam boiler

Application and function
The quality of the boiler water has a direct influence on the efficiency of your system. During operation, the substances bound in the boiler water increase. In order to prevent the negative consequences (foaming, deposits) of excessively high TDS content in the boiler water, specified limit values must not be exceeded.

With the aid of a TDS control valve, boiler water with concen- trated content is removed and replaced with clean water. If the limit values are exceeded, the TDS limitation ensures prompt shut-off of the burner.

IGEMA offers simple but effective systems for 2-point conductivity control up to 15 or up to 32 bar, as well as systems for continuous control. The electrode EL22 with t-piece is used for measuring inside a boiler. Inside the pipeline, the EL18 with block flange measures the conductivity.

Flushing of solide

Application and function
During operation, solids settle on the bottom of the boiler. By briefly opening a valve with a large cross-section, a suction is generated at the bottom of the boiler, which drains the sludge.

To ensure a proper functioning of your system, we recommend to us the IGEMA blow-down valves KAV1 R1-N and KAV2 R1-N. While the KAV1 is designed for manual operation and control, the KAV2 is equipped with a pneumatic actuator (diaphragm) and a program-controlled solenoid valve.

Electronic level switch type EWLS Application and function The electronic switch consists of the following components: Water column with 1 to 4 probes (fully wired) Measuring unit (MU); mounted on to the water column housing and fully wired NEMA4X/IP66 Control Box with Control unit (CU) for up to 4 independent probe channels and LED indication (fully wired) connecting cables Technical basic equipment The state of the art electronic level detection can be used for steam boilers or any other application with electrically conductive liquid. Typical applications: Receiver tanks (Water tank, Deaerator, Condenser) Flash Tanks, Feedwater heaters TWIP (Turbine water induction prevention) Steam line drain control Boiler water high level high/low level control and many more Recording is carried out by a conductive measuring principle which can detect even lowest condutivities. The measuring unit (MU) can be equipped with up to 4 probes. The distance between the individual probes can be determined by the customer. Due to the freely programmable assignment of switch contacts to the probes, the system provides maximum versatility. Both the measuring unit and the control unit have two independent electronic circuits with its own processors. All processors carry out regular self-tests for internal faults in the electronic circuit. Redundant power supplies are standard with our system. The control unit (CU-3) processes the signals recorded and controls the downstream functions. It is built into a stainless steel control box (IP65/NEMA4X). The control box provides local indication of all probes (water=green, steam=red), normal operation (green LED) and system fault (yellow). Individual configurable output contacts (SPDT) with time delay option are available as standard. Furthermore an eighth contact (SPDT) is permanently switched as the signal contact for device error and a ninth contact (SPDT) permanently switched as the water level alarm contact, whereby the probes triggering the alarm (LW and/or HW) can be freely selected. Here each processor actuates its own relay per contact whereby the output contacts are only switched when both processors signal normal operation. In addition there is a 4mA ‒ 20mA interface as a (virtually) continuous output available. The output is increased per submerged probe by the corresponding proportion (16 mA / number of probes). In the event of an error the output goes to 2 mA. The configuration/programming is carried out via 4 buttons and a 2-row illuminated LCD display with 16 characters each. Also the LCD display will show local fault indication such as power supply failure, probe fault, level indication failure (“water over steam failure”), circuit board failure, cable fault or short circuit. The EWLS design and fabrication complies with EU Directive 2014/68/EU and the applied regulations DIN EN 12952, DIN EN 12953, AD2000 and the ASME boiler code. Application and function
The valve is used to blow down and / or to drain steam boilers. The conception of the valve enables a fast opening necessary for the blowing down. This fast opening causes a suction in the boiler whereby deposits and possible solids are flushed out of the boiler.
